Function Summary: add New Zealand project banner {{WikiProject New Zealand}} to talk pages of a vetted list of Category:New Zealand articles.
Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): one time run
Already has a bot flag (Y/N):
Function Details: the update is to add the Wikipedia:WikiProject New Zealand talk page template to a vetted list of 11k articles under Category:New Zealand. It adds class=stub when the article has a stub tag, and importance (low, mid, high, top) based on a recent article traffic survery for NZ pages. It would skip pages with any existing WikiProject templates, for manual checking (to avoid issues with nested templates etc).

[edit]- Are you using the KingBotK Generic Banner Plugin? This custom module is coded to work with banner shells and the like. §hep • ¡Talk to me! 23:02, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- That's a better way, so I'll run it with KingBotK to remove the substantial manual part. XLerate (talk) 06:32, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- After spending considerable time trying to get the KingBotK Generic Banner Plugin to work, I discover it appears to have a bug (every page is rejected due to bad tag), scheduled to be fixed in the next build. So I proceed with the original method, skip any existing tags, then look to the remainder when KingBotK is working. XLerate (talk) 08:49, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
