Discussion
[edit]The bot operator is not the bot account, please indicate your main account (Wikiwriter I presume). Do note that unlike most other Wikipedias, you should only make bot edits in your userspace before trail. The "estimated number of pages affected" refers to the number of pages the bot will edit after approval. Is this task Automatic or Manually assisted? Make sure you have read Wikipedia:Bot_policy#Interwiki_links. — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 11:52, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I do not have a main account in English wiki. Please click here to go to my account in my home wiki. I made trial edits outside my userspace. That is because of lack of awareness about bot policies. I did not edit manually with this account (except my userpage). --Wwbot (talk) 12:16, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- You should not edit or post messages from bot account. This may mislead users, as bot account is supposed to be used for specific approved purposes only. Users with concerns may not speak other languages and will post on English Wikipedia talk pages. You are currently not in trial, as a BAG member has to give you a {{BotTrial}} first. You still need to update "Automatic or Manually assisted" and "Estimated number of pages affected" fields. — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 12:42, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I already said that I have no account, other than this bot account, in English wiki. Then how to post my comments here ? I updated the fields that you have asked me to do so. Awaiting reply. Thanks. --Wwbot (talk) 07:20, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Please read WP:BOTACC. You have to either use your global account, or create a new account to communicate. Also, "Estimated number of pages affected" estimates the number of pages the bot would edit after approval. See some examples. Does "manually assisted" mean you will review each edit yourself before committing, both before and after the trial? — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 08:12, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I am the owner of Wwbot. I review each edit after bots run both before and after the trial. --Anoops93 (talk) 12:00, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Please update the bot's userpage and the operator field to reflect this. — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 11:57, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Updated bot's userpage. --Anoops93 (talk) 13:45, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- What pywiki options do you use? — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 13:55, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Using interwiki.py for adding interwiki links. --Anoops93 (talk) 21:49, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- So to rephrase, what parameters are you using when starting the script ("-hint", "-force", etc.)? — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 21:54, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- A user has requested the attention of the operator. Once the operator has seen this message and replied, please deactivate this tag. (user notified) –xenotalk 14:45, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
