Function details: AWB cannot process pages with characters from the unicode private area, so will update the 787 pages in the search above so that other bots that use AWB can the update those pages.

Discussion

I have been using MalnadachBot to fix user signatures giving high-priority Lint errors per approval in Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/MalnadachBot 2. It skips pages that have characters from unicode private use area, because AWB cannot process pages that have it. Replacing the character with its hexadecimal equivalent will make those pages editable from AWB, so I support this task. ಮಲ್ನಾಡಾಚ್ ಕೊಂಕ್ಣೊ (talk) 17:19, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

All the occurences listed in the search will be replaced. There are a few other occurences using a different formats of the sig (this search) which could be looked at as well. Wasn't sure what to do with these ones when I raised this request but I could do them as well, with some small changes to the javascript. -- WOSlinker (talk) 21:14, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
