Function Details: User:HBC AIV helperbot has been designed from the start to expect people to change the page while it is working. Because of this it is able to work alongside other instances of itself without issue.
More than once, hardware failure, or oversight has resulted in my bot not running. My plan is to have 3 instances of the bot running in 3 different locations at all time. Each bot will take the job it sees first and ignore jobs other instances got to first.
The timing on the bots will be adjusted so that the average read/write rate will remain the same as the single bot. If one bot stops functioning the remaining bots will simply take on more work.
I have already tested multiple instances at home and it works flawlessly. No effect will be seen on the service to the channel other than increased reliability and the new usernames in the history. No effect will occur to the resources the bot uses on the servers.
I have the volunteers, and am ready to roll this out. HighInBC (Need help? Ask me) 01:11, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
