Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: automatic
Programming language(s): Python
Source code available:
Function overview: Update Template:COVID-19 data/data
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate):
Edit period(s): Daily
Estimated number of pages affected: Template:COVID-19 data/data
Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): No
Already has a bot flag (Yes/No): Yes
Function details: This is similar to tasks 1 and 1A, but instead of parsing wikitext and generating table contents, it updates a single JSON data page (which is more machine-readable). The JSON page provides data to Module:COVID-19 data, which is used in a few templates (I'm working on implementing more.)
Discussion
[edit]This seems to me like a simple extension to the other tasks since it's largely just a change in data format, so I'm inclined to just speedy approve it. The previous approvals already establish that this kind of task is wanted, and there's little that can go wrong updating a single data page, and I'm confident the operator can handle issues as they arise. - Speedily Approved. Per the above; single page with an operator that is well familiar with this area of content. Primefac (talk) 12:49, 25 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
