Automatic or Manual: Automatic
Programming language: Python, wikitools
Source code available: Yes
Function overview: Fix the name
parameter of stub templates
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): None that I know of
Edit period: Daily
Number of pages affected: Approx. a dozen templates each week
Exclusion compliant: No, shouldn't be necessary
Already has a bot flag: Yes
Function details: When a stub template is moved, or when a new one is created by copying another one, its name
parameter has to be fixed. Editors sometimes don't do this, and such templates appear in Category:Stub message boxes needing attention. I have fixed some of those by hand in the past, because it's a simple task and it doesn't happen that often. But because it's a simple task for a bot too, I have made one now. The reason for fixing the parameter is because it's required to show the template documentation, see e.g. Template:Saitama-railstation-stub. User<Svick>.Talk(); 16:53, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]So this changes the |name=
parameter to match the name of the template? Seems straight-forward.

- I have run the bot on the 20 templates that had incorrect names. There aren't more of them for now. User<Svick>.Talk(); 17:18, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
