Discussion
[edit]We're filing this BRFA because we now want to automate the process of handling our users who have signed up to receive suggestions regularly to ease the burden of having to do this manually. From what I have been able to find through searches the previous SuggestBot approvals have all been for manual or semi-automated tasks (see thread in WP talk:Bots/Archive 15 and the second SuggestBot BRFA). The underlying functionality of SuggestBot itself has not changed. Nettrom (talk) 17:14, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Opt-in process, so I don't foresee any objections. Approved for trial (1 week). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. (take longer if necessary) –xenotalk 16:39, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Trial complete.
In the time since the trial was approved we've signed up ~100 of the users previously listed on User:SuggestBot/Regulars (page is a redirect), and have some additional users sign up. As seen in this list of SuggestBot contributions it has been running automatically over the past week with good success. I have not seen any complaints. I plan to continue to sign up users over the coming week so we ramp up to where we were before the switch to templates, and also unify our template structure and ask for some protection of those to prevent disruptive edits. Let me know if there's anything. Cheers, Nettrom (talk) 15:48, 6 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
