Operator: [[Sam Korn]] (smoddy)
Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic
Programming Language(s): PHP, using Pillar
Function Overview: Per Quadell's request, add or remove {{ffdc}}
and {{deletable image-caption}}
to image captions as appropriate
Edit period(s): Daily
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Yes
Function Details:
The process is almost identical to Sambot 11; indeed, the code for the FFD part is the same, but for the substitution of the appropriate page names. The other part of the task goes through the following categories:
- Category:Wikipedia files with no copyright tag
- Category:Wikipedia files with unknown source
- Category:Wikipedia files with unknown copyright status
- Category:Wikipedia files with no non-free use rationale
- Category:Disputed non-free Wikipedia files
- Category:Replaceable non-free use Wikipedia files
- Category:Orphaned non-free use Wikipedia files
It then gets each of the daily categories, goes through each page and adds {{deletable image-caption}}
as appropriate.

Trial complete. 50 edits. One problem -- dropping a square bracket in this edit -- the mistake has been fixed.
A minor change has been made to the code -- the bot will no longer make edits when they will not show up, i.e. when neither thumb
nor frame
is present in the link. [[Sam Korn]] (smoddy) 21:32, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I looked over the code, and it's so beautiful I'm crying. (Well, I mean, it looks good to me.) – Quadell (talk) 00:22, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Approved. er... I guess that's a good thing! Anyhow, we know what to expect here, and I can't forsee any problems. Obviously, keep an eye on it and such, but you've made it easy for me at least to decide. - Jarry1250 (t, c) 16:56, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
