Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: automatic
Programming language(s): Python
Source code available:
Function overview: Move book and education program talk pages before deletion of the namespaces.
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)/Archive 190#Education program (again) and Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)#Delete all books within the book namespace
Edit period(s): One time run
Estimated number of pages affected: 1,252 (education program talk) and 6,721 (books, talk pages not included)
Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): Yes
Already has a bot flag (Yes/No): Yes
Function details: There is consensus for removal of the Education program and Book namespaces, but before this occur they should be archived at Wikipedia talk:Education program archive/FOO or moved to Wikipedia:Books/archive/FOO to allow for future refunds. The books will require a short follow up discussion to confirm target page names and such, but it will require mass moves to satisfy the close.
I will move with talk pages (for books where it's applicable) and leave no redirect behind. That last part will require the bot to be granted page mover rights. I'm willing to make a third bot account if you want me to for the permission issue.
Discussion
[edit]Approved for trial (100 moves). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. For education program talk namespace only. The books discussion was only closed yesterday, so let's wait for a week to ensure the closure is not challenged. – SD0001 (talk) 09:36, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Re: That last part will require the bot to be granted page mover rights.
This is not needed, the bot user group includes supressredirect
right. – SD0001 (talk) 09:38, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
- SD0001 Trial complete. 100 moves Not much unexpected here. Only odd thing was that the bot for unexplained reason failed to move Education Program talk:University of Toronto/CHM437S Bioinorganic Chemistry (Winter 2015)/Course description and crashed. If this type of issue occur again I will move it manually.
- Book moves will not be started for another week at least assuming no objections. --Trialpears (talk) 10:48, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
- The API usually gives some error message. – SD0001 (talk) 12:17, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
- Yeah it said it was title blacklisted but it didn't actually appear to be. Doesn't really matter that much. --Trialpears (talk) 20:54, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Approved for extended trial (1151 moves). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. To cover the rest of the education program talk namespace. Trial looks fine, and the task is non-controversial and already discussed in multiple VPT discussions. – SD0001 (talk) 12:17, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
- Trial complete. 1145 edits I've honestly not checked all of them but the ones I did looked good and I don't really know what could go wrong, everything it the same as last time. It encountered some blacklist issues again which were done manually with blacklist override, but that isn't a major issue. --Trialpears (talk) 21:00, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
