- This seems to be the same basic request that E has put in above. So long as you're manually approving weach edit, I don't see an issue with doing this. SQLQuery me! 20:32, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Please rephrase your statements for what the 'manually assisted' bot will carry out. I need to also know what modules are you using in AWB. Find/Replace?? Please elaborate and we will decide on a trial from there. Thank you. — E talk 07:00, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I rephrased them. I will be using RegexTypoFixer, based on the list I mentioned above. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 19:15, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Three things: I think the edit rate is a tad too high, users might have something to say about a 'bot' editing spelling errors - just because bots are not usually approved for spell checking and how can it be a 'Continuous' mechanism if it's manually assisted? You aren't on Wikipedia 24/7 are you? — E talk 20:40, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I might suggest, just going ahead and running this task, under a username that does not include the phrase "bot" (per the username policy, IIRC). I've run this task myself several times under my user, back when I used windows. I don't believe that you need BAG approval to do this, so long as you are manually approving each edit (and, that's also the only proper way to do semi-auto spell checking). So, to recap, I would suggest saving OreoBot's username, for perhaps a future AWB bot, that you might want to run, withdrawing this request (or, someone in bag could mark it expired / declined / whatever, I spose), and just going ahead with this under an account of your choosing. - Actually, I wouldn't mind just closing this request. I can always do it manually on my current account. Thanks. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:20, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
