Operator: Mets501
Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic
Programming Language(s): python (pywikipedia)
Function Summary: Fixing double redirects
Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): whenever I move a page and need to fix double redirects
Edit rate requested: 6 edits per Minute
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Yes
Function Details: I've been finding myself around Wikipedia:RM a lot, and I would like MetsBot to be able to fix all of the double redirects that I create (and some that other users create). It'll get the list of redirects for a specific page from Special:Whatlinkshere, and will fix the double redirects. I may also have it fix pages listed at Special:Doubleredirects from time to time. I've done a little bit of this in the past (see [1] for example) because it's a completely uncontroversial task that several bots perform, but I should get formal approval before doing it a lot. —Mets501 (talk) 18:49, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]- Task approved. Seems reasonable and contained enough, no objections. Voice-of-All 00:36, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
