Function details:

  • Finds an article from Category:Articles with dead external links.
  • For each URL in a citation template, checks with IA to see if they have it archived.
  • Add the |archiveurl= parameter. If the reference was tagged with {{dead link}}, then set |deadurl=yes. Otherwise add |deadurl=no.
  • ???
  • Profit!

Unclear whether it was superseded by Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/Cyberbot II 5. Some people mention a functioning "Internet Archive linkrot bot". Nemo 16:04, 17 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
