Discussion
[edit]Please see Chamba, Himachal Pradesh for how the infoboxes should look. Infobox Indian jurisdiction is being deleted and you've messed up the paramters of the others ones you created. I don't see any reason you couldn't run a bot providing you do everything correctly a use reliable sources for population data. I would support a few trial runs with this bot to try to get it right. But please avoid bare url links in references♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:22, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Thank you Dr.Blofeld, now iam using Infobox settlement. Sorry about the URL, a space in the link made it look like Dubious.--Jenakarthik (talk) 00:04, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- One issue is the source, you'd need to change it to something reliable like the Census India database. Also, what's your process for checking duplicates? Just last week we had over five duplicate articles (mostly bot created). It appears that you are going block by block, so using the Census India database shouldn't be a problem. Also, especially with Tamil Nadu we have multiple locations with the same name, so we have some articles at disambiguated titles, some at the main title and so on, so eliminating duplicates is essential. —SpacemanSpiff 12:35, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks for your valuable advice Spaceman, yes i found that the links are asking for a login and i got some new sources, so will update that that soon.--Jenakarthik (talk) 00:04, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You need to complete the fields above and give explicit function details as to what this bot is going to do. — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 12:51, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I did to my knowledge, Plz help to develop it further
Has this proposal been discussed at all at WP:VPR and/or at the talk pages of the relevant WikiProjects? Anomie⚔ 02:16, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've got some questions as well:
- What programming language is this bot written in?
- Is the source code available somewhere?
- What source are you using for the information in these articles? I see references to it above, but I am not sure it was explicitly mentioned here.
- What information will your bot provide in these articles?
- Will the articles your bot creates be subject to any sort of human review before they are posted to the article namespace?
We need a lot more information about this bot and how you intend to operate it before we can grant any approvals. Hersfold (t/a/c) 15:37, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- sorry for the late reply Hersfold. Here is my answers,
- No programming language - Iam creating the articles manually .
- No source code - just manual writing based on the info available.
- Give the sources- for each village the souces are different, for example for a Block or Taluk in madurai district, i use its official website madurai district and blocks in madurai.
- The village includes the datails such Village name in english and Tamil, demographics, literarcy rate , Sex ratio etc and even the educational institutions in that village.
- Yes always. As iam doing this manually, the articles are always subject to rewiew by myself.
Here i need to tell about my rate of speed. I was said by Dr.Blofeld and Mr.ganesh that iam creating with higher speed. This happens because i always pre type the article on a wordpad so that i can edit and check them clearly. So when i upload its just copy and paste from the word file, so it looks like high speed.--Jenakarthik (talk) 08:47, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I just noticed that the operator is still creating new article stubs without approval. See contributions. Not good. I will request for revoking his AWB access. — Ganeshk (talk) 15:48, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I have posted about this at the ANI. — Ganeshk (talk) 16:17, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- As i said above and in other pages, i was just editing the templates and arranging the previously wrote articles. At that time i created a few articles which is for the whole day, But they are not about this Bot. So plz consider my request and Plz help me.--Jenakarthik (talk) 08:47, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Denied. This is not a bot, it's not even an assisted editing task, so I don't see how the BAG could approve it or not. This consists of normal page creation, at a relatively low rate (~1 per minute, for 10-15 minutes, a few times per day) not anywhere near what bots and semi-automated editing can achieve, and lies outside of what BAG can approve or disapprove. However, since these seems to be problematic articles for one reason or another, I would suggest you go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Tamil Nadu, and closely follow the feedback and guidance given there.
