Function Details:
- Since the bot is already leaving the {{unsigned}} template when a user forgets to sign a comment on a talk page, I'd like to begin warning users who leave two unsigned comments within a 24-hour period by placing a comment (like {{tilde}}) on their talk page.

Run a trial for up to 20 edits and post the results her e within 1 week. I can't see any reason to oppose this, as it is quite reasonable. - Ok, the new version supporting this feature is live. Here is a sample diff. Based on some feedback I received, we've decided that when leaving the unsigned comment, it will also whitelist the user for 24 hours so any subsequent comments will not be signed by the bot. The bot will stop talk notification at 20 edits, please let me know if you wish to extend this after you observe its performance. Thanks, Hagerman(talk) 02:24, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

- Let me get something clarified. When you say that the bot will stop at 20 edits, what do you mean? -- RM
- Since its in a trial period, it will stop performing this task after it has left a note on 20 users' talk pages. The other task will continue to run uninterrupted. Best, Hagerman(talk) 13:38, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Approved. I looked over the edits. You got a lot of new users, and I'm not sure how many even cared about your post. But I do know that at least one did. There were a number of them that were vandals. I'm not sure how useful this will be, but at least you are trying to be helpful and when you catch the occasional legitimate user, that's what counts. I see no reason to prevent this. I'm going to approve this additional task for the bot. You could consider trying the bot out with 3 instead of 2 unsigned comments in 24 hours, but I don't know that it would make much difference anyway. -- RM 13:33, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
