Discussion
[edit]I use the vanilla pywikipedia bot for the interwiki-links. It is already running successfully on the de-wiki since some months but I did not have the time to apply for a botflag on other wikipedias yet. But the efficiency would be enhanced by editing more wikipedia projects.
In addition to interwiki-links, I also replace %
with % and do fixes.py in the German Wikipedia. I can also activate that for en-wiki if it is consensus. I only do cosmetic changes on pages that need an edit anyways, so there is no overhead in traffic. I hope that answers all your questions. Greetings --hroest 14:16, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- The interwiki is fine. I'd prefer if you do not do cosmetic changes (see Wikipedia:Bot policy#Cosmetic changes), unless you can address the concerns on that page. — The Earwig (talk) 16:44, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- OK, I can turn off those functions for the English wikipedia. That is no problem. Greetings --hroest 07:53, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Approved for trial (50 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. As long as this is limited to interwiki, the bot task is pretty uncontroversial. Tim1357 (talk) 23:50, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- And you aren't running in force AND autonomous modes. Q T C 08:05, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Trial has started from my side (I was away over the weekend and didnt want to run without monitoring). It does not run with force, just autonomous. Greetings --hroest 12:27, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- 50 edits are complete, I stopped the bot. I am waiting for an evaluation. Greetings --hroest 19:47, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
