Discussion
[edit]I will start to install ActivePerl now and see if we can get these bots on the road. — E talkbots 22:39, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Approved for trial (50 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. once you get set up. --ST47Talk·Desk 22:40, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- I have had it running for at least 17 hours now, with no edits. Do you think I should withdrawl this request and re-run approval when another one drops out? — E talkbots 21:55, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Beg ST47 to stop his bot for 10 minutes, or long enough to get ~50 edits. Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 22:42, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- We could just temporarily block it ;) Reedy Boy 14:35, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- I'd say the odds are pretty good that there's a problem in your configuration somewhere, E - with the length of time you've been running your instance, it should have had many chances to remove items from the various pages serviced by the helperbots. Are you seeing any output on the command-line from running the bot? What version of the code do you have? On helperbot5's user page, you're indicating version 2.0.3, but I'm assuming that's just blind copy/paste, because helperbot4 says the same thing, and 2.0.3 is less than the currently allowed version of the bot, and thus wouldn't work. —Krellis (Talk) 18:19, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- I am seeing all outputs on the command line, running current version and have not yet made edits. I'm using Windows XP with ActivePerl. — E talkbots 20:11, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, I dunno, then. It really seems odd that it wouldn't have managed to make any edits in the time it's been running. *shrug* —Krellis (Talk) 20:42, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- E: Regarding the output, do you see any lines like:
- [2007-08-21 20:56:07 UTC] rm '86.143.79.205': Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism/TB2
- Or only like:
- [2007-08-21 20:52:58 UTC] Fetching instructions...
- [2007-08-21 20:52:58 UTC] Done, will check again in 30 minutes.

- It does seem pretty odd to me. — E talkbots 21:47, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- E: Interesting. Look in your MediaWiki/page.pm file, and see that edittoken_regex, line 50, is exactly as follows (important part bolded)
- $edittoken_regex = qr/(?<=value=")[0-9a-f]+'''\+'''\\?(?=" name=["']wpEditToken["'])/;

- It was different and have replaced it with what you posted above. Lets see if that makes any changes to the editing. — E talkbots 06:49, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Withdrawn by operator. I think that there is some problems here. I shall withdrawl until I think there is a urgent need to run a backup. — E talkbots 06:05, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
