Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: Automatic
Programming language(s): Perl
Source code available: User:HBC AIV helperbot/source
Function overview: Redundant copy of HBC AIV helperbot to remove blocked users from WP:AIV and WP:UAA, update instructions at WP:AIV, etc. as described at User:HBC AIV helperbot.
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): Wikipedia talk:Administrator intervention against vandalism#Helperbots down..., User talk:Wimt/Archive/Nov-2013#Helperbot
Edit period(s): Continuous
Estimated number of pages affected: 5
Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): No
Already has a bot flag (Yes/No): No
Function details: The two active instances of the AIV Helperbot have been prone to shutting down lately, and neither JamesR (t c) nor Wimt (t c) are particularly active lately, so it's sometimes days before one or both get restarted. I'd like to run another copy of the code from my Tool Labs account. The code is designed to work safely alongside other copies of the same bot, and redundancy is never a bad thing. (The code is not {{bots}}
compliant because it only edits the five pages specified in the source.)
Discussion
[edit]- Sometimes I wonder if the reason it goes down so often is because it's so outdated. A rewrite may be in order at some point.
- Anyway, you have the modified copy of Mediawiki.pm, correct? →Σσς. (Sigma) 19:24, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Correct -- I've already done a test in userspace, and it worked fine. —Darkwind (talk) 03:40, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, one day someone should rewrite this bot. Anyway I can't see any issues Speedily Approved. --Chris 03:52, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
