Function overview: Adding of a MS Spectrum to a biomolecule page (e.g. Abietic acid).

Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): I mentioned this plan here but with no response. Instead of adding the links to the (data_page) of a biomolecule, I opted to add it to external links on the main page of the biomolecule.

Function details: This bot checks if a GMD link is already present. If not will add or expand an 'External links' section to the bottom of the page. The page is manually checked before saving it back to wikipedia.

Discussion

This appears to fall under WP:BOTNOTNOW for botop as a new user. I'm also not sure we really need a bot for only 100 pages. As for task, I know little of chemical authority sources, but what makes MS Spectrum the choice here? Although a smaller issue here given the scope, we'd need to see consensus for this, like at WP:CHEMS. (I see your post without replies, but I still think if this is to be implemented, inside infobox is probably the best way.) —  HELLKNOWZ  ▎TALK 19:08, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

• The only reason I'm requesting approval to run a bot, is because I do not want to do a repetitive task manually and sought a way to have some assisted editing. Maybe there is better assisted editing solution than to run a bot here? I'll also seek a dialogue with the WP:CHEMS people to check where to put the MS Spectra the best.
