- All
{{WikiProjectNotice|PROJECT=XXX}}
, where XXX contains the words "chemistry", "isotope/isotopes" or "element/elements", or combinations of them will be removed, as they are redundant with the new banner. - The remaining {{Chemical Element}} and {{Chemical Element Isotope}} will not be converted pursuant to this task.
Discussion
[edit]- I just want to make it clear that elementname is a placeholder for whichever element we're speaking of, and not a category actually named "Elementname". Headbomb {ταλκκοντριβς – WP Physics} 02:40, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- There's not a category for every element. Would Category:Einsteinium even be useful? – Quadell (talk) 14:08, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, the einsteinium category would, IMO, end up containing (at the very least) Einsteinium, Isotopes of einsteinium, Albert Ghiorso (discoverer of einsteinium), Albert Einstein (named after him) that would be lumped in it. It's also possible that redirects from Einsteinium-X to Isotopes of einsteinium (or perhaps a more appropriate Isotopes of einsteinium#Einsteinium-X) are eventually created, and these would end up in the Einsteinium category. I suspect that it doesn't currently exist because it's a hassle to create all the categories and to the basic population of them (which the bot would do). Approved for trial (30 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. Okay. Can you do both category creation and talkpage editing as part of the trial? – Quadell (talk) 13:08, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Done, [1]. It was necessary to extend the trial to 45 edits due to my initial omission of descriptive text in the category pages; however, it should be possible to include the descriptive text at the time the remaining categories are created. Erik9 (talk) 03:15, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Approved. Looks great, thanks for doing this. – Quadell (talk) 12:44, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Nevermind, I did it. Headbomb {ταλκκοντριβς – WP Physics} 00:12, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
