Automatic or Manual: automatic
Programming language(s): Python, C#
Source code available: featured.py as part of pywikipediabot is available and my own code is not
Function overview: Maintnance of marks of featured content of other projects, e.g. {{Link FA}}, {{Link GA}} and {{Link FL}}
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate):
Edit period(s): periodically. ~ Full pass every month.
Estimated number of pages affected: from hundreds to thousands.
Exclusion compliant (Y/N): Yes.
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Yes.
Function details: I plan to maintnance {{Link FA}}, {{Link GA}} and {{Link FL}} with two different scripts. First is "featured.py" from standard pywikipediabot pack. Second is my own script for more accurate work with marks for two projects: russian and ukrainian. Unlike featured.py it removes outdated marks for every type of featured content (not only for featured articles) and checks the rightness of every of these marks (featured.py checks only a special categories with former featured articles).
Discussion
[edit]Has there been any discussion about this, on the appropriate pages? --Chris 05:07, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- What page can be appropriate in this case? A talk page of {{Link FA}} is not too popular, I think. Anyway, a script "featured.py" is the part of the standard pywikipediabot and if there are some doubts about my own code, I can use only this script. --Emaus (talk) 14:47, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Trial complete.
- Work of featured.py: [1] and earlier (~1400 edits). They marked with comments "...is a featured article", "...is a good article", "...is a former featured article" and "...is a featured list".
- Work of my code: [2] and earlier (~200 edits). They marked with preffix "Trial edit:" in comments. --Emaus (talk) 21:39, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
