Function Summary: AWB editing
Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): daily (mostly)
Edit rate requested: 5 edits per minute (at max speed, probably significantly less)
Already has a bot flag (Y/N):N
Function Details: used for editing articles of interest with AWB. For now, they will mostly keep to WPMILHIST and WPMusInst articles, although I am still learning AWB.... I will be requesting approval from AWB to operate on this bot account when/if the bot request is approved.
Discussion
[edit]We need to know exactly what you intend to do with this account, an example would be nice. ST47Talk 15:50, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- OK - thanks. Please forgive me, I'm new at doing this bot stuff. Anyway, an example would be what I did with my account 16 April 2007: I used AWB to tag and assess musical instruments that were not assessed. This is the kind of work I see this account performing - repetitive, usually relatively simple things like an initial assessment or tagging unassessed or uncategorized articles that belong in WPMILHIST or WPMusInst. The reason I would like a bot account to do it is because I was purposely going slower to keep the edits under ~2/minute, and with a bot account I could go a bit faster. Another reason I would like a bot account is because I personally believe that this kind of easy editing (using AWB to put {WPMusInst} on unassessed musical instrument articles) is a form of "padding" my edit count, a kind of editcountitis.... Again, my personal belief, "your mileage may vary".... - NDCompuGeek 00:13, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
