Function Details: Due to a bug in the Template:WPBiography template, sports biography pages needing photos were added to Category:Wikipedia requested photographs of people rather than Category:Wikipedia requested photographs of sportspeople. The template has been fixed but several hundred existing pages remain in the wrong category, and need to be touched or modified in order to be recategorized.

This bot would crawl pages linked from Category:Wikipedia requested photographs of people. Any page which includes:

• a WPBiography template with "sports-work-group=yes";
• Category:Wikipedia requested photographs of people

would be touched (i.e. rewritten with the exact text, as if by touch.py) to regenerate the proper categories.

This bot should not have to run indefinitely; the underlying problem was a template that has been fixed. It is reasonable to expect that at some point the bot will be unable to find any more offending pages, and can at that point be decommissioned.

It never should be (I've never seen a WikiProject banner substituted). I'm going to make sure everything's in order with the template, then deny this task request. — madman bum and angel 05:05, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

• The problem with the template caused articles to be listed in both categories, also, not the wrong category. Everything will be sorted out automagically. No need for a bot. :) — madman bum and angel 05:12, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
