Function details: I identify the pages which need changes using petscan, quarry or similar tools. I will formulate appropriate regexes for detecting the search string and replacement and use replace.py script for making the changes.

If the use of other pywikipedia bot scripts requires consensus, I will use the apropriate talk pages for discussion and then use the scripts, if consensus is obtained.

I have used this account with bot flag on Telugu wikipedia for 10+ years without issues.

Discussion

Bot requests on the English Wikipedia generally require one specific task to be stated, not just a general request to run some script. This sort of one-off ad-hoc task sets are normally handled using a different tool such as WP:AWB/WP:JWB. And you shouldn't run the bot before getting approval as you just did.

The edits the bot made themselves could do with some work - they left several articles such as Veerapunayunipalle completely uncategorized, and you claimed these pages are not mandal articles, which is not supported by the article itself (Veerapunayuni Palli is a mandal in YSR Kadapa district) * Pppery * _{it has begun...} 04:14, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
