Function details: In June 2014, {{subst:rfd}} was updated to be transparent for template transclusions, to avoid disruption to existing articles using the template redirect while it is being discussed. But this had the side effect that someone trying to game the system can go around and add new transclusions to make it look like their pet redirect is more widely used than it would otherwise appear. And when someone does this with a redirect to a dated maintenance template, my daily email of AnomieBOT's "couldn't find anything to date" log messages that I use to find new templates to add to WP:AWB/DT gets flooded with messages about these temporary non-redirects.
Thus this request: AnomieBOT will detect when a transcluded page contains the output of {{subst:rfd}} wrapping a redirect to a template-namespace title. Then, when scanning pages for templates to date, if the bypassed version of a transclusion would be edited by the bot then the transclusion of the RfDed template will be bypassed and dated. For example, {{lr}}
would currently be converted to {{Cleanup-bare URLs|date=March 2015}}
, while {{lr|date=March 2015}}
would not be since it does not need additional dating.

[edit]I'd appreciate a quick trial on this, as Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2015 March 17#Template:1r might be closed soon leaving no current test cases. Anomie⚔ 14:04, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
