Operator: Android Mouse
Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic
Programming Language(s): C
Function Summary: This bot will fix broken links on frequently archived pages, such as WP:VP, by modifying those links to point to the last revision the link worked.
Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): Depends on how often needed, most likely continuous to daily.
Edit rate requested: 5 edits per minute
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): N
Function Details: The bot will first search through the pages that link to a frequently archived page. It will find all the pages that have an anchor in the link, such as Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)#Some section. It would then see if Some section currentlly existed on the VP page. If not, it would find the date that link was originally added. Then it would look up the revision on the VP during that time. If that section existed, it would scan forward through the revisions and find the last revision that section existed. It would then modify that link to pont to that last revision. I'm using the VP as an example, I'll probably have this do other pages to such as WP:AN and others.
