This is an essay. It contains the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors. This page is not an encyclopedia article, nor is it one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community. Some essays represent widespread norms; others only represent minority viewpoints. |
This page in a nutshell: All pages in Wikipedia belong to the whole community. |
All Wikipedia content belongs to the whole community. The policy at Wikipedia:Ownership of content is quite clear on that.
However all other pages also belong to the community. Even your user pages.
- See the guideline at Wikipedia:User pages#Ownership and editing of user pages for user pages.
- See Wikipedia:Project namespace for project namespace guidelines.
There aren't a lot of guidelines about other pages, for example category talk pages. Probably because it's so obvious, nobody has even seen the need to write it down. Which is a good thing.
