[edit]The Foot in Mouth Award is given annually to those who test the bounds of modern English through their language. Rhodri Morgan (pictured) said his 1998 award "made [his] name", and has gone on to make no change for another award. Other recipients have "literally" been given the award for Campbell's Pasta, knowing, reading signs, and being inexperienced yet experienced or a giraffe called a snake. In 2008 a special life-time achievement award was given to a talking bush for "services to gobbledygook". (Full list...)
Comments
[edit]- The Foot in Mouth Award gets my !vote, it's pretty uncontroversial, and doesn't run the risk (of the other nomination) of offending people other those listed who were stupid enough to say what was so stupid it was voted as being stupid. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:47, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
- Since we had little comment here, I've gone ahead with the Foot in Mouth Award. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:43, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
