This is intended to be a guide to help keep this project moving. Should you wish to help, there are a few things you can do:

Most important: Updating your status

If you have been paired with someone, please keep your status current. This is most important. The status page tells us who is available to coach and what coaching is currently taking place. If you are using a coaching page (i.e. User:StudentXYZ/Admin coaching), list that page in the "Activity level/comments" column.

Matching yourself

If you are a coach or requestor, go ahead and attempt to make a connection. Do not wait for the coordinator to do anything. Waiting is not necessary or required. The program is meant to run itself as much as possible.

If you are a coach, you may contact one of the hopefuls listed on the request page. Ask if they are still interested in the program, and offer yourself as a coach. If s/he agrees, remove the person from the request list, and update your status. It is important to record your contact attempts. Add links after the requestor's name, with something like offered to coach, Feb 1 [link]. This makes it easy for everyone to know what is going on.
If you are a requestor, user the status page to find an available coach. Record your contact attempts in the "Activity level/comments" column with a link to the request and "--~~~~"

Matching others

Anyone can try to match people with coaches. Use the status page to see if there are available coaches. Investigate whether "taken" coaches are actually engaged in coaching. Sometimes people are matched and then nothing happens. Inquire with the coach and coachee as to their status. Update the status page accordingly. Record contact attempts in the notes section, with dates. It is not necessary to list your username, just the date.
Match an available coach with a student. You will need to message that student and see if s/he is still interested, and make sure the connection is finalized (both parties agree to be matched). Update the status and requests pages.

Updating the request page

There are a few reasons why requestors should be removed from the list. The person:

..has been paired with a coach.
..has become an admin.
..has been inactive for 2 or more months.
..no longer wants a coach.

Feel free to update the list as necessary, with appropriate edit summaries.
