Oogenesis

[edit]

Oogenesis – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 204 daily hits

  1. Oppose This is barely short, 30,000 bytes and 1,853 words look plentiful. There are only 204 daily hits, which doesn't seem that much for an article like this. 🍗TheNuggeteer🍗 13:16, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bicolor cat

[edit]

Bicolor cat – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 979 daily hits

  1. Support, needs expansion for such an important article and more references. SVcode(Talk) 23:29, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Link rot – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 243 daily hits

  • This topic is going to become increasingly important to our society as time goes on and the World Wide Web ages. The article is C class, which is a generous assessment, and has some maintenance tags. Lots of the lists can be converted to prose. GeogSage (⚔Chat?⚔) 15:41, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Detonation

[edit]

Detonation – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 137 daily hits

  1. Support - expansion could be done.--BabbaQ (talk) 11:00, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose: I can't see any vital problem with this article. Purely long enough with good sourcing. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 00:53, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Rail Transport

[edit]

Rail Transport – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 734 daily hits

  2. Support - per nom.--BabbaQ (talk) 07:03, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Oppose, strongly. Rail topics benefit massively from systemic bias — they are the exact opposite of the area we should be focusing attention on with this project. The article isn't featured but is in perfectly decent shape. Sdkbtalk 20:01, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fire Safety

[edit]

Fire safety – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 267 daily hits

  • This level-5 vital article with decent amount of hits needs additional citations along with other problems like not representing worldwide view and not reflecting encyclopedic tone. SVcode(Talk) 22:29, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Support per nom. :GeogSage (⚔Chat?⚔) 00:46, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Arts

[edit]

Artist

[edit]

Artist – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 298 daily hits

This is among the worst articles I've seen for such an important and elementary topic. Extremely poorly sourced, and possible copyright violations from a dictionary. Level-4 vital article that has had templates since at least 2021. Needs sources, elaboration, and cleanup. It would take work to make this article worse then it is.

Ryuichi Sakamoto

[edit]

Ryuichi Sakamoto – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 1,308 daily hits

  • To be fair, most of the YMO-related articles might need to be improved, but this is particularly true for the late Sakamoto, the best known member of the trio and a very well-known musician in general, who has still a C-rated article with some sourcing and formatting issues. Oltrepier (talk) 20:37, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Neutral, seems like this article may need fixing, I'm not sure. SVcode(Talk) 23:18, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose, looks more like B-class to me. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 16:05, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Oppose, 125 sources and is edited many times every month, not in any urgent need for AFI improvement. Utopes (talk / cont) 16:01, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Support - could actually need the projects help.BabbaQ (talk) 09:10, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Internet culture

[edit]

Internet culture – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 182 daily hits

Saucer

[edit]

Saucer – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 149 daily hits

  1. Oppose, even though the article is tagged for a decade, the hits isn't high enough. SVcode(Talk) 22:20, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose as per SVcode. Wil540 art (talk) 17:17, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  4. Support, important topic, used for centuries, evolving history of usage, and familiar to many cuisines/cultures. 16:33, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

  2. Support I couldn't find any citations for this, could use extra attention GrinningIodize (talk) 19:48, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Articulated bus

[edit]

Articulated bus – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 246 daily hits

  • The article is in bad shape and it has had multiple unsourced statements since 2010. It is a level-5 vital article and a top-level article in a semi-active WikiProject. (CC) Tbhotch 22:59, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Oppose, only one section needs to be updated and only 4 statements are unsourced, this doesn't need much AFI help. SVcode(Talk) 20:45, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tinga (dish)

Tinga (dish) – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 278 daily hits

Geography

[edit]

Leyte

[edit]

Leyte – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 301 daily hits

  • A large island in the Philippines, with a population of 2.6 million people, a lot for a start article. The article seems messy, the infrastructure only has one section, and a lot of media was produced based on Leyte, but only two sentences are present. History is significant here, with Typhoon Haiyan, Battle of Leyte, and yet the History is only two paragraphs. 🍗TheNuggeteer🍗 13:09, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Malé

[edit]

Malé – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 857 daily hits

  • The most major city in the Maldives. Most parts of the article are not even cited. The texts in the article should expand and explaining more. Most days, the article has 900+ views. Further, the article should be updated. It now has very old information. MAL MALDIVE (talk) 18:52, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Malaysia

[edit]

Malaysia – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 9714 daily hits

  • Main page for a major country with decent amount of daily hits.
  • Currently mostly a depository for links to subarticles, and otherwise a disproportionate focus on listing ethnic groups and nationalities.
  • Some important aspects are completely missing, such as Government and Politics incl. link to subarticle DracaenaGuianensis (talk) 22:18, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Geodesy

[edit]

Geodesy – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 319 daily hits

Level 4 vital article with multiple templates including multiple sections without sources.GeogSage (⚔Chat?⚔) 05:30, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Support It could definitely use some help from this project, especially on the sourcing front... Oltrepier (talk) 18:48, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Annapurna – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 901 daily hits

Gaborone

[edit]

Gaborone – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 443 daily hits

Antigua and Barbuda

[edit]

Antigua and Barbuda – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 2,262 daily hits

  • Article has less than 100 sources, start class lvl 4 vital country article, original research and sections that need SIGNIFICANT expansion. 48JCL 11:34, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Note: Less than 100 is tiny for a country article. Most have like 200.

Map

[edit]

Map – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 5,355 daily hits

This Level 3 vital article has been tagged for "lacks sufficient corresponding inline citations" since 2017. The page has a lot of room for elaboration, and could be cleaned up significantly.GeogSage (⚔Chat?⚔) 07:29, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Support, per above. SVcode(Talk) 23:25, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Geodesy

[edit]

Geodesy – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 440 daily hits

This level 4 vital article recently failed a nomination for "Good article." It has several templates related to needing additional sources. It has a significant amount of content and I believe this project can improve it substantially. GeogSage (⚔Chat?⚔) 18:02, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Support, AFI can add citations. SVcode(Talk) 23:52, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tobler's first law of geography

[edit]

Tobler's first law of geography – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 65 daily hits

  • Tobler's first law of geography is a widely cited and important aspect of the discipline. It is one of the foundations of spatial analysis and one of the primary results of the 21st century "Quantitative revolution". The article is listed as a "start" class and can be tremendously improved. There is a significant amount of peer-reviewed literature related to the topic.GeogSage (⚔Chat?⚔) 22:09, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Support - per nom.--BabbaQ (talk) 11:00, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose, not notable. SVcode(Talk) 21:54, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Weak oppose, not notable, not viewed frequently and I find it concerning that a Reddit post is a top option while searching the term up. 48JCL 16:44, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Try searching for it on Google Scholar. Note the titles of the articles, and citation counts. GeogSage (⚔Chat?⚔) 07:01, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Remote sensing

[edit]

Remote sensing – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 530 daily hits

  • Remote sensing is a level 4 vital article. However, the page has a template calling for more sources and several unsourced sections. There is a lot of content on this page already and with a bit of work can be dramatically improved.GeogSage (⚔Chat?⚔) 06:10, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Support - Inclined to agree with nom here. Project could really help.--BabbaQ (talk) 22:59, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Support, AFI isn't a place to bring decent articles to GA for FA but I think this article needs some copyediting and expansion. SVcode(Talk) 23:12, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Strong Oppose This is not what AFI is for. Get the WikiProject to help you with this. It has an under construction tag which means it is already being worked on meaning this doesn’t need AFI. No unsourced statements. 48JCL 02:11, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Oppose per @48JCL GeogSage (⚔Chat?⚔) 14:49, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Split of Christianity and Judaism

[edit]

Split of Christianity and Judaism – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 100 daily hits

  • Vital article. This is a rich, complicated topic—an important topic, explaining the historical emergence of Christianity as a discrete religion from a sect of Judaism. The hits are low because the article was only recently created (after having existed in a pretty poor form and later merged for a few years into another article). Zanahary (talk) 06:54, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Support - could need some help.--BabbaQ (talk) 10:59, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

1915 genocide in Diyarbekir

[edit]

1915 genocide in Diyarbekir – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 53 daily hits

  • Although this article is not quite widely read, it is still worthy of being an AFI due to the fact that in spite of being C-rated the section "Deportations and massacres" is nearly empty and genocides and massacres are no unimportant. --RekishiEJ (talk) 13:00, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Support - per nom.--BabbaQ (talk) 11:02, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose, after some thought, I decided this article isn't important. Genocides and massacres are sad and important but there are many and this isn't an notable genocide. SVcode(Talk) 22:12, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Oppose per SVcode. Utopes (talk / cont) 05:44, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Spencer Compton, 1st Earl of Wilmington

[edit]

Spencer Compton, 1st Earl of Wilmington – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - ~121 daily hits

  • The second Prime Minister of Great Britain is obviously a highly notable topic, but currently it's in a terrible state. I suspect some of the information (such as the dates given for his tenure as Speaker of the House of Commons) isn't even correct. Full of [citation needed] tags, and is written like an essay. Could definitely benefit from improvement. Tim O'Doherty (talk) 11:48, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Support, vital article that has multiple issues that AFI could help in. SVcode(Talk) 23:22, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Road Not Taken

[edit]

The Road Not Taken – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 1079 daily hits

  • This is arguably one of Frost's most famous poems if not of all poetry, at least in the United States, and therefore I feel like the article needs to be improved. The article has some issues currently—it is fairly short, has analysis and popular culture sections that need expanding. I feel like the article should not lean so heavily into the one interpretation of the poem as ironic, as it seems to do in the reception section; while it may be more "correct," at least by how Frost wrote it, but the popular interpretation of the poem is valid in its own right. Honestly, I feel like a lot of the content relating to how the text is misunderstood should be under the analysis section instead. FieryRaven (talk) 16:02, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Support - needs projects help. Improvements could be done, indeed.BabbaQ (talk) 00:38, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Support, needs more expansion. SVcode(Talk) 00:14, 12 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ghost forest

[edit]

Ghost forest – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 1031 daily hits

  • This article may be confusing to readers and could be expanded upon in terms of historical occurrences, causes, dating methods, how the info about these sites is utilized in different branches of science, and so on. A supplement list of ghost forest sites would be helpful to possibly relate them to the earthquakes/tsunamis/other sources that contributed to their formation. Enteritis

[edit]

Enteritis – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 16,760 daily hits

  • Extremely high-traffic page about a common medical condition that has been neglected until recently. Enteritis is something that common people will be researching to find out if it's dangerous, how they can handle it, if they need to go to the doctor or ER, etc, and I do not think the current page does a great job of it. A couple of us have made big improvements lately but this is a big topic that could use some more hands. Just-a-can-of-beans (talk) 19:37, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • This article is now considered vital at level 5, and has been the most frequently used (though many visible colours are not included, even some that can be reproduced in the CMYK printing) RGB colour space, however it is now of Start-class, meaning that Wikipedians that are expert in color science should improve it a.s.a.p.--RekishiEJ (talk) 17:27, 20 October 2022 (UTC) added some words 07:09, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  2. Support - review, The project could really improve this article.BabbaQ (talk) 22:50, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Oppose for the mass nomination of 5 color spaces (1/4), when the list of accepted AFI nominations contains more than plenty color/graphics topics already queued, (like 10+ or so), including another color space which has already passed. The topic area does not appear to be in critical need of this much AFI weight. Utopes (talk / cont) 23:15, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Tuva Novotny – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 1 295 daily hits

  1. Neutral, has high hits, but I'm not sure if she's an very notable actress. SVcode(Talk) 22:15, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose not relevant enough for an AFI slot. Was nominated for deletion a couple years back as possibly not even notable with barely enough sources, which does not look good for the prospects of what AFI would be able to do across a week. Utopes (talk / cont) 05:40, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

E-Trade

[edit]

E-Trade – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 383 daily hits

  • E-Trade was one of the first online-only discount brokers, in the 1990s. It's historically important for that reason, on the same level as Amazon.com for books. For the first time it allowed the general public to buy and sell stocks online for very little money. The WP article has devolved to the point it's basically useless for understanding why the company is notable, or its history of pioneering innovation. The article used to be a little better it has actually deteriorated with time. GreenC 22:12, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nandipha Magudumana

[edit]

Nandipha Magudumana – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 394 daily hits

  • This is a newly created article with approximately 2000 hits in the past 7 days and expected to reach even greater heights as time goes by as recently a docu-series based on them is now airing on Showmax. This person is one of the most searched individuals in South Africa in 2023 and probably 2024 as of March, they have been in the news since last year 'til today. Article is nominated for DYK and is most likely to be nominated for ITN. dxneo (talk) 17:56, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

#Neutral, There's an slanted towards recent events tag on the article which means there's an current event going on. So we must wait until the article isn't affected by current events. SVcode(Talk) 23:44, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Oppose, I changed my mind as this article is in good shape since good quality articles are usually nominated for DYK. The article isn't getting that much hits anymore. SVcode(Talk) 23:32, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
SVcode, technically I am the only editor there, hence there is not much activity. dxneo (talk) 00:59, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  3. Oppose per SVcode. Average pageviews between 3/22/24 and 4/22/24 were 394 daily, only jumping up from DYK. No demonstrated lasting relevancy, AFI is not for writing new articles. Utopes (talk / cont) 05:37, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Utopes, actually the page did not accumulate click from DYK as it was removed moments after. Like I said on the nom, she is one of the most searched people in South Africa. dxneo (talk) 10:59, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Oppose, I am not sure why a decent article needs improvement. 48JCL 23:30, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
