Virundo District is one of the fourteen districts of the Grau Province in Peru.[1]

Geography

One of the highest peaks of the district is Qusqu Qhawarina at approximately 4,800 m (15,700 ft). Other mountains are listed below:[2]

Ethnic groups

The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (81.59%) learnt to speak in childhood, 17.54% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).[3]
