Vélo d'Or français

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Vélo d'Or français (French for "French Golden Bicycle") is a cycle racing award, created in 1992 by the French cycling magazine Vélo Magazine. Until 2023, the award was given to the French rider, male or female, considered to have performed the best over the year.[1] Starting from 2023, the award was split into the "trophée Bernard Hinault" for the best French road rider and the "trophée Daniel Morelon" for the best French rider in other disciplines such as track cycling, mountain biking, and BMX.[2] An additional award for Paralympic cyling was introduced in 2024. These awards are presented at the same ceremony as the "Vélo d'Or", which is given to the best international rider.

Mountain biker Julien Absalon has the most awards, with four.
