According to The Cambridge Medieval History, Volume 3, Henry Melvill Gwatkin, James Pounder Whitney, Charles William Previte-Orton, Zachary Nugent Brooke, page 153-154; "In the faction fighting Marquess Peter was driven from Rome c.927, but a terrible Hungarian raid which lacerated Italy from Friuli to Campania, enable him to re-enter the city." [1]

This was just a cursory search. I found nothing about Hugh of Italy or anyone calling on the Hungarians. --Kansas Bear (talk) 20:38, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Even under Taranto on wiki it says that Saracens destroyed the city in 927. I think that there was no Hungarian raid in southern Italy in this year. There is a mistake under 924 as well - Henry the Fowler agreed to pay the tribute in 926 annualy. Later on he stopped paying it so they attacked but it is not that they attacked after the deal terminated.
It would be very good if sb into early Medieval Hungarian/German history could look at the list, there are mistakes here and there. Zygcyb (talk) 08:40, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
