Question
[edit]Howdy, I'm curious what prompted you to create the Rocky Mountain Rendezvous (1992) page, I've been aware of it for many years but its largely been under the radar, and one of those subjects that tends to surprise people when I've mentioned it to other people who grew up in Estes with me. Its great to see this little known event covered but it made me wonder what might have put you onto it, thanks for your work. 2600:8800:7181:D300:486E:9B4A:2B85:56B7 (talk) 14:50, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hello! I am sorry but I kept thinking I responded and then I guess I would forget to actually respond.
- I wrote it because my spouse is very interested in the progression of the conspiracy and anti-government movements, such as espoused by Alex Jones (and I say in the lens of a critical analysis, rather than any adherence those people). Knowing how critical this meeting is in the rise of some of the most devastating violence in the US, Oklahoma City being the obvious me, it is unconscionable how almost nobody has ever talked about it in the discussion of these sorts of anti-governmental extremist groups (the citations notwithstanding). As a lawyer, I do not believe I have found a source on Lexis that mentions the Rendezvous, even on relevant topics. This is one of the greatest flashpoints in the history of those movements.
- As the historian/Wikipedian side of the relationship, I had the pleasure of adding that information to the greater community of knowledge. I would have never known nor understood the context without the amazing teaching of my spouse, who I could credit if they were on Wikipedia. Zkidwiki (talk) 18:21, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
