Regarding the Names of God in Islam article

[edit]

I am sorry if this displeases you, but the wording of articles has to be close to the sources (as defined here) that the article uses. While there is a difference between attributes and proper names in native English, epithets tend to be treated as names, while attributes tend to be impersonal. I have started a discussion on the article's talk page (found here), and hopefully we may be able to find something .

I recommend telling your friends that it is illogical to say that 99 names means 99 different beings: the Lord is known as Allah in Arabic, Yahweh in Hebrew, Tengri in Mongolian, Enkai in the Maasai language, Deiu in French... but these names all address the same Lord. I hope you have a more pleasant experience on Wikipedia in the future. Ian.thomson (talk) 16:33, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
