There is some controversy regarding the controversy regarding ITT Tech. I have a stated bias. (I guess maybe I should have kept that a secret.) RW sandbox page

Best try I've seen yet for an article on RW :-) The trouble I can see with what you have so far is that the press coverage is mentions of RW, but not actually about RW. Outside of "who is right, who is wrong", this is not the correct way to handle disputes on Wikipedia. If there's a dispute, you're supposed to follow WP:BRD. (One of your "boldly" removed it, I "reverted", and then we "discuss". That process does not including continually editing to your preferred version - it's supposed to stay as is, until/unless there is consensus to change. Sarkeesian talk

We might disagree about this, but I don't think it's appropriate to box or archive an ongoing RFC without first closing it. Based on the guidelines for closing such discussions, I'd prefer that an uninvolved party close the process, though there's no policy which prevents an involved party from closing the procedure when consensus is clear (and I think you and I agree on that point). I'm suggesting you unbox the discussion, and list it for close at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Requests_for_closure. You should feel under no obligation to follow my suggestion, but I'm offering my two cents because I think it's the best outcome. Thanks for your well-considered work in the area. I reverted your "revert". According to references Neil deGrasse Tyson is a multicultural person since he is of Puerto Rican and Afro-American descent. Does he being born in the Bronx mean that he is not of Afro-American descent? No, I didn't think so, nor he less a Puerto Rican for it. If you take the time to read the heading of the list you will notice that both people who are Puerto Rican or of Puerto Rican decent are included. The writer of said article does seem a bit too ill-informed about the game to be considered accurate. Similarly, the developer named in the article is not even the developer of said video game. Finally, this just seems like a single opinion piece that could be similarly leveled at Grand Theft Auto, Mortal Kombat or anything else of the sort. No need to single out Payday. Anime Syracuse

I wanted to give you a more specific answer as to why Anime Syracuse right now doesn't have a Wikipedia article. After searching in the local Syracuse media, I found very little coverage of Anime Syracuse except from WAER and a piece that was borderline press release on syracuse.com. Attempting to get more reports from the local media including TV and Newspapers would help get the con enough notability for an article to be created. It also might not hurt to revisit all the Animecons.com entries, checking for missing events, attendance figures, and guest list changes. Esw01407 (talk) 20:03, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

DragonForce "Frontman" edit

Hey there

The reason why I have continually edited the order of the band members is because the frontman, as is with all bands, should appear first. It is both mentioned and referenced in the article, "...would be seeking a new frontman..." and "announced their new vocalist and frontman, Marc Hudson." None of these phrases were my own; they came from the references themselves. Therefore, to say that the vocalist is not the frontman, in this case, is not true.

Also, if you don't like a particular part of my edit (or any edit), you should just change that part manually rather than revert the whole thing; doing that means you've disregarded everything else that I have put all of my time and effort into, all because you didn't like one particular thing (and you never mentioned anything about the rest of the edit). I believe that the way I've done the order is correct, and it is for this reason that I reverted back to the version with my edits. I hope you understand my reasoning. reassurence for those who think that all positive stuff about anita gets threw

I interviewed singer Andrew Sarkeesian, who is a not related to Anita, however he said that he supports Anita in what she does. He's a singer, (not a mojor one but still has appeared in some dance music songs) Does this mean the article needs to mention andy? no it doesn't. Is my radio show a good source? maybe or maybe not. If i spoke with someone more well known like Yoko Ono or Susan Roman then maybe as there are more people who can easily contact said people to confirm or deny anything that is said. As for Andrew, he's not well known and doesn't have much of an online presence, being form Iraque and also not a tech fan.

I'm not a part of that crew

I have no idea what you mean about not being American enough but as a Canadian myself, I don't understand how she *could* be a US citizen unless she a) has a parent born on US soil or b) she wasn't a Canadian citizen at birth due to her parents being diplomats or c) married a US citizen.

I know lots of people her age (my age) in the US who are from Canada, yet none of them have obtained citizenship and thus are not Canadian-Americans.

More to the point, I could "identify" as a citizen of Mozambique, but that doesn't necessarily make me Mozambican. If the discussion is over, it's over; That doesn't help Wikipedia at all. -JakobusVP (talk) 00:20, 25 November 2014 (UTC)

Re: Weak COI

I applied for a job there (as well as at several other companies). To the best of my knowledge I have never edited any of their pages, and plan on keeping it that way to avoid any appearance of a COI. Quotes - Xbox One

I noticed you removed the quotes in this edit citing "doesn't make sense" in the edit summary. However, several references also have the phrase listed in quotes, such as this one, indicating that it was Microsoft's choice of words. Removing the fact that microsoft use pc's to demo their consoles.

This should be in the article because its common knowledge amongst gamers that Microsoft does this to make their console seem to achieve a higher graphical fidelity and frame rate then it actually does. I don't know why a couple people at the talkpage for Anita Sarkeesian believe that I'm trolling, or that I wish to harass anita. As i've stated, i'm actually friends with a relative of her (no it's not andrew sarkeesian, he's not even related to her at all) who's name i won't say out of respect for him. I feel that if I was to start harassing Anita it would dammage our long-running friendship.

I was trying to be ruondabout in bringing up the discrepency of Anita's birth year and ehr birth place, the issue was thankfully resolved by strongjam, but a couple people there believe that I am trolling. Is it because i'm not feminist? or does it simply look like trolling from my part? Do you think you can fill thi smancunian in on your views on this whole trolling accusation? thanks

Hatred (video game)

There was a citation need tag on the text before, for which I agreed.

1. Not in the article The controversy surrounding Hatred was ultimately overshadowed by criticism of the quality of the game itself
2. In the article, but cherry picked. There was good press too. Also Turned a critic to critics. which critics felt was "boring" and lacked variation. Hatred was also criticized for not being as controversial as previously expected, and some critics drew comparisons...

Jim Sterling does not have 2 kids

You said my change was uncited and reverted it; why is it okay for the original info not to be cited, either? There is absolutely no public evidence for why someone should believe he has two kids, and that's because he's never said or done anything that suggested he had anyone but a step-child.

I realize it was an anonymous change, but I had as much proof as anyone else provided.

I'll have him tweet later that he doesn't have two kids so you can have your citation... The one that you didn't require when someone pulled out of their ass that he has two kids.

That is only because people kept deleting factually accurate and well referenced information from reputable sources. Is that not perfect grounds for undoing such sabotage? I know this isn't a legitimate defence but I am new here and wasn't aware of that rule.

I took that on board in my revisions. In the final revision the statistics were put next to the part about allegations of fund mis-use. It's not like these figures are made up, they're from the Feminist Frequency Annual Report. The factual information from primary sources was only put in to substantiate the article. Colloquialism & Referenced Terms

Removing content that is pertinent to discussion; to be filtered through your opinions, is not only against the T&C of Wiki standards, it is offensive to the editor who wrote said content. the term 'Feminazi' is an accepted term by the opponents of Third Wave Feminism, and so is pertinent to the discussion. Thanks for all you're doing to keep the KI2013 page clean and up to date. I saw you add in information on the various purchase bundles, mentioning that you knew some information was missing, so I thought I'd help fill in the blanks. According to the official KI site's update on S3 pricing info (which you could use as a source for the section as a whole)...

• The Ultra packs also include all of a character's Premium Accessories in addition to the retro costumes.
• The Season 3 Ultra pack also includes additional colors for the 8 Season 3 characters, plus a Double XP Booster; the extra KI Gold was just a limited-time offer for pre-orders and release-window purchases.
• There's also a third bundle that was released for Season 3, the "Supreme Edition", which contains everything in the other three Ultra Packs (minus the two KI Classic games if you buy the PC bundle).

Death Battle

The issue with the original format is that because of the transition from Screwattack to Rooster Teeth, the links became faulty. I've restored most of them at this point, included the links to the newer episodes, and added more citations to the points before the episodes for good measure which should be satisfactory. My name’s Alex. I’m a student at American University, and I’m working on a project on Wikipedia and Youtube. I noticed you made a relatively large amount of edits to the List of Youtubers Wikipedia page and I was wondering if I could get your input on a few questions.

1. After talking to a few Wikipedians and doing some research, it seems as though Youtubers have a harder time obtaining a Wikipedia page and/or higher quality pages than other “traditional” professions. Do you agree with this assessment? If so, why do you think this is?

2. What could Wikipedia change to better accommodate notable figures from newer platforms like Youtube? What could Youtube do to better live up to Wikipedia standards?

3. If you could change the guidelines on Notability in any way, what changes would you make and why? If not, why do you think they’re stable enough that future societal progression could still be covered equally?

Universal Windows Platform as a DRM / anti tamper technology for software on its article

Hello, regarding the revert you did on the article Universal Windows Platform. i understand that UWP has diferent implementations/uses, and one of the big ones is the DRM for software released with UWP (that goes almost unoticeable on the wikipedia article), one of the big challenges for any DRM on software is the copy protection/antitamper/piracy on videogames sector, such efforts to protect videogames from piracy were unsuscessfull, untill denuvo were launched some years ago, on its early days it successfully prevented piracy from the games protected with that DRM, but from some time has been defeated and not only that but also quicker after each release, with the Microsoft Windows 10 Store UWP protection system, they tried to do similar, and this month as you can see on the references, this UWP DRM protection system was for the first time defeated, and on its second defeat was on a windows store exclusive Age of Empires Definitive edition, and not only that but also was cracked only 3 days after the games release. i may be wrong, but it seems that you think that this part/side/view of the UWP is not worth of mention on the main wikipedia UWP article i belive this crucial information is worth to be added to wikipedia. maybe the way i added it may have flaws. but from the videogame industry and DRM protection point of view, this are very important facts. that are worth to be noticeable on the article. and dont fit any of the current sections of the article (Compatibility, Deployment or Reception).

UWP can be a way to implement software on diferent platforms, etc,... to but also its current role/effect is as a DRM protection system much like Denuvo

User experience lab at Full Sail University
