Speedy deletion

[edit]

Speedy deletion has to be based on one of the specific guidelines that have been established. If you just make up a reason, as on Pakistan Vs Australia UAE 2009, your request will be declined. Also, if you do mark an article for deletion, it is very strongly recommended that you notify the author (you can use the template message that appears in the speedy deletion box itself). --R'n'B (call me Russ) 15:19, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Chess_position has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Thank you. SunCreator (talk) 00:28, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello ZeroOne! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 329 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Harry Harkimo - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks for the invitation! I had actually already added my name to the list of project members but I now added the userbox to my user page too. —ZeroOne (talk / @) 14:36, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ZeroOne, and thanks for your recent involvement with this dear project of ours. If you take a look at the to-do page, you'll see there's plenty to do for everyone... May I suggest the New Java-categorized articles task. If that suits you, please put your user name on the relevant line in the to-do page so that everybody knows where you're contributing. Thanks again and don't hesitate to ask for any clarification or if you would like something else to do instead, --AlainR345Techno-Wiki-Geek 22:31, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I actually got somewhat interested in the WikiBook Java Programming. I already found a couple of issues and raised questions about them. —ZeroOne (talk / @) 20:00, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome idea! As you may know, that book is linked at the bottom of Portal:Java and therefore it's an important task. Actually there is a line for that on the to-do page and I took the liberty of putting your name there... Only problem I can see is that as you know there seems to be a User:Arunreginald quite active on that. Try to coordinate. You may get more ideas here and here. Know what they say on Wikipedia: BE BOLD! --AlainR345Techno-Wiki-Geek 21:50, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you have revised either Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri or Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire.

I intend to revise those articles following the Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Article guidelines. There are more details on the discussion pages of those articles. I'd be interested in any comments you have. It would be best if your comments were on the discussion pages of the two articles.

Thank you.

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:28, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nice, thanks, I guess. :) —ZeroOne (talk / @) 15:23, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Civ V Review

[edit]

Hello. I removed the review because Civ V's been well covered by noted review sites, and I feel their reviews should be added first - like if there's a lack of reviews for a game, then it's ok to include some lesser-known review sites, but generally I think the sites with existing templates should be used first, and primarily. Thanks! Fin© 20:19, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, didn't answer your question. "nn review" means non-notable, but I don't mean this in the wikipedia way. Feel free to add back the gameshark review if you think it's important etc! Thanks! Fin© 20:20, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Gorillas screenshot.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Gorillas screenshot.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:07, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mastermind.jpg

[edit]

Scoring shown in this picture, for guess one and three are wrong and possibly for guess number four (I can't tell if the color of the two left pegs is pink or red, if it is red then this is wrong too) Maybe this image should be removed from the Mastermind (board game) article because I think it is confusing. What is your opinion? Sgv 6618 (talk) 22:51, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, and thanks for your concern. The guesses seem to be as follows:
  1. yellow, yellow, blue, blue
  2. purple, red, red, yellow
  3. green, purple, green, yellow
  4. pink, pink, purple, yellow
  5. blue, red, green, purple
  6. green, blue, red, purple
I can't see any errors in the guesses you mentioned, would you mind elaborating?
ZeroOne (talk / @) 11:21, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest nothing is wrong with the scoring. The only thing that is wrong is my laptop's screen color fidelity. Exams' fatigue + Laptop screen = wrong assumption, Rest + Desktop screen = clear view! Sorry for that! Sgv 6618 (talk) 01:07, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, well, no problem. :) —ZeroOne (talk / @) 12:45, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Use of Assembly2004-areena01

[edit]

Hello ZeroOne!

I'm a filmmaker who recently featured a super low budget film - The Electroscheme. I would love to use your photo Assembly2004-areena01 in our trailer. I can send you the trailer for approval.

Since movie trailers don't have credits, we will give you a credit in the ending film credits. Is this alright? The movie is an experimental comedy, kind of like Monty Python. We will use the photo for about 3 seconds in the trailer to represent the "Digital Age."

Please email me at golden.thrills@gmail.com with any questions.

Thank you! Alex —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.185.109.207 (talk) 03:46, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Knightmare Chess 2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Knightmare Chess 2.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
