Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you.

Speedy deletion of Andrew McKenna

[edit]

Please do not make personal attacks. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. October 2008

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Sepp Blatter has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. · AndonicO Engage. 15:08, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No personal attacks

[edit]

Wikipedia has policies of civility and no personal attacks. To ask someone why they made a particular change is acceptable, and so is asking them if they did so because they hold a particular idea that you believe to be mistaken. To call someone a "f***ing f***ing c**t" as you did here is absolutely not acceptable. This is not a kindergarten playground, where those who can be more vulgar in their abuse "win". -- 65.78.13.238 (talk) 15:11, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bruce Springsteen's 100th

[edit]

Hello. Look, if we put the 100th birthday of people on those year articles then those articles will just get full up with such entries. I think you should think about entering the information WHEN Bruce Springsteen reaches 100, which I'm sure you'll agree is by no means guaranteed. bodnotbod (talk) 14:00, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Zenon2008! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 244 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. George Bowie - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
