reference library?

[edit]

I saw on the assessment page that you were getting Ringing Bell assessed, and that the notability of it was questioned. I was wondering if you've tried the anime books reference library for assistance? I'm fairly sure there'd be something useful in both of Helen McCarthy's books to expand the "Reception" section. Thank you for doing all that work on the article! --Malkinann (talk) 10:17, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Felidae ost.jpg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Felidae ost.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:55, 31 March 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Radiant chains (talk) 10:55, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Civil War Horses

[edit]

Hey! I was looking at your list of American Civil War Horses, and as I'm working on the article for the novel about Traveller_(novel), before I go adding the dozen or so warhorses in the novel, I wonder if you'd be able to verify them. Like...was General George Picket's horse really named Romeo, and so forth. And I noticed Skylark and Star of the East aren't listed on there as JEB Stuart's horses, though Skylark is treated as his primary mount in the novel. Anyway, if you look at the article there's a list of the horses and the men they purportedly belong to. Since the rest of the book is so meticulously researched, I have little reason to believe those horses didn't really belong to those men, but I don't want to be stepping on anyone's toes here. Blah blah blah, etc, have a nice day. XD;; Zekiw (talk) 06:06, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I did some more research into Skylark and found a citation. Much of the contents of this list article were based on a book about horses in the Gettysburg Campaign, so there may be anomalies that can be corrected one by one. It does not appear that Stuart rode Skylark in the Gettysburg campaign, at least if this book can be believed (and the author is quite reputable in terms of Gettysburg knowledge). Cavalrymen such as Stuart could be expected to have a number of mounts.
I have reverted a number of your In popular media additions of this novel for reasons explained in User:Hlj/Why#Popular. Other than General Lee, none of these Confederate generals can really be considered central characters in that novel and mentioning them is therefore not notable. If there are articles about the horses who are the central characters, mentions in them would be appropriate. Any fictional treatments about Robert E. Lee -- and there probably are dozens or hundreds -- is going to have numerous references to other generals and it would be inappropriate to put all of those references into the biography articles of all of those generals in Wikipedia. Hey. Thanks for the edits! I'm a little over-enthusiastic. XD Zekiw (talk) 21:22, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thunder Oak assessment

[edit]

Explaining the terms is just a minor thing: remember not everyone on Wikipedia has read the book, or even heard of it before. Just as an example, you should probably explain that the characters are talking animals, to make it clear to those unfamiliar with the series. You could also explain why the outlaws are outlaws, what Thunder Oak is, etc. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 16:55, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks! I'll do more work on it.Zekiw (talk) 04:23, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
