Zak, You have a lot of good information here describing z-pinning, its uses, and its properties. That information is organized neatly into different categories and headings that make it easy for the reader to understand what z-pinning is, and you have plenty of sources to back up your claims. One thing that I might add to your article would be some hyperlinks for terms that the average reader might not know about, such as delamination and pultrusion machine. MECH 2960 Instructor Review

This sandbox is a great start to expanding the Z-pinning article. The following are suggestions for further clarification!

General sentences at top:

For the figure reference, how are they normally referenced in the article?
Where will this sentence go?
For the sentence "The pin spreads the fibers and creates an oval shaped gap that is filled with resin to prevent it from splitting." What is the "it" that is prevented from splitting? It's not clear to me. Also, the phrasing right now makes it sound like the oval-shaped gap filled with resin is what is preventing the split, when in reality it is the Z-pin that prevents the split. Please rephrase to make this clear. And oval-shaped should have the hyphen in it

Uses section:

Your title says "uses", which many articles say "Applications" instead. I think it's fine either way, just pointing it out
While you say "uses", you then spend half the paragraph talking about the benefits, rather than the use cases. It seems to me that you may wish to have a section of the article be about the "benefits", and which is separate from the "uses"/"applications".
For those benefits, it would then be useful to say the mechanism by which these improvements occur, and in which loading situations the benefits are observed.
All your references are at the end of the paragraph -- it would be better to spread them throughout, where they are most closely spoken about.

Manufacturing section:

When I started the first section of this section, I thought I was going to learn about the manufacturing USING Z-pins, when it was really about how to manufacture the Z-pin itself. I think your introductory sentence needs to clarify this for readers who are like me and would be confused
Perhaps the intro sentence should be a little more of an overview of the process. It could say that pins are pre-cured and then inserted into composites. Then after having said that general statement, you can go into the pre-cure pin manufacturing process, followed by the insertion process

Testing:

Your section on testing covers just 1 paper, while there are tens to hundreds of z-pinning papers published. Why this one? It seems very specific, rather than generic enough for an encyclopedia entry.
I recommend you use this section to be more the benefits section I described above, you talk about the general improvements in properties observed, and then each general observation you can put references ... then the person would go to that article to read all the details (like the material system, etc. that you inserted here and which is too specific for an encyclopedia article).

General thoughts:

overall, there's not much linking to anything else on wikipedia ... are there locations where you can reference other wikipedia articles?
Is there a reason for this order of sections? (i.e., uses first, then manufacturing, then testing?)

MECH 2960 Instructor Review #2

The article now posted live on wikipedia is a great addition, and already getting views! There are a few typos to fix and other things that will make it shine:

In the intro paragraph, near the end you have a typo that says "compostie" instead of "composite"
Again, the sentence "The pin spreads the fibers and creates an oval shaped gap that is filled with resin to prevent the compostie from splitting." makes it sound like the resin is keeping the composite from delaminating (that's the official word instead of "splitting"), when it's actually the z-pin that is preventing the delamination. I would re-word to make this clear
for the sentence ending in "the Z-pinning will prevent it from completely falling apart." A more technical way to describe might be "the Z-pinning will prevent it from catastrophic failure."
I might re-title the "Production" section to say "Z-Pin Production". The following section could then be "Manufacturing with Z-Pins". This will help clarify the purpose of each section I think.
