User talk:Zawed/Library
Hi Zawed,
I found your page while searching for information on a book (Rhie Won-bok (2005), Korea Unmasked - In Search Of The Country, The Society And The People. Gimm Young International) that I need for one of my college courses and see that you have it in your library. I have found that this book is supposedly no longer in print, and unfortunately have used up all my financial aid to cover the rest of my books, needless to say I could really use access to this book. Do you have it in digital form or how are you making it available?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Glen

[edit]Hi Glen, I only have a hard copy of the book, no digital copy I'm afraid. The idea with my library page is to help with providing references/support for articles on Wikipedia, so I check the index and perhaps photocopy a few pages at most for interested Wikipedians. Unfortunately, Korea Unmasked, which is a graphic novel on the history/culture of Korea, doesn't have an index - but I assume you are wanting the whole book. There isn't really anything in the book which you won't find elsewhere. I suggest checking out Michael Breen's "The Koreans" for a mix of history/culture reading (it isn't an academic book so is easy to read - I would consider his book to be closest in tone/content to Rhie's Korea Unmasked). Andrew Nahm has written or co-authored a couple of books on Korean history and culture (but these are a little dull). Bruce Cumings (Korea's Place in the Sun) and Keith Pratt (Everlasting Flower) are more focused on history, but are quite academic fare. Hope that helps. Zawed (talk) 23:08, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
