Unblock request

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I understand that my account is blocked and due to my lack of experience as of the time. But, I sincerely affirm that my previous actions were not deliberate and that I will never repeat them as I have been introduced to some important user guidelines and manuals. So, please consider my request and unblock my account. Thank you for your help. Zarerh (talk) 06:31, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

At a certain point the edit filters repeatedly preventing your edits should have been a clue to stop making them. In any event, you don't tell the constructive edits you wish to make instead(a specific example would be helpful). 331dot (talk) 07:20, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I promise to refrain from making unnecessary edits and using open proxies (vandalism). I will be using my account in accordance with the Wikipedia standards and policies. Thanks Zarerh (talk) 13:10, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This is incoherent. "open proxies (vandalism)" is nonsense. Yamla (talk) 15:09, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Follow up

[edit]

Dear @User:331dot, thank you for your feedback. I understand now that ignoring edit filter warnings was a mistake. Going forward, I commit to: carefully reviewing edit filters and addressing concerns. Also, seeking guidance from experienced editors before making potentially problematic edits. The specific constructive edits I'd like to make are:

  1. Improving citations on articles under the Women in Nigeria category, Yobe politicians stubs and Nigerian women related pages.
  2. Expanding and improving articles about Nigerian people with relevant images and reliable sources.

Thank you for your kind consideration. Zarerh (talk) 17:09, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please make a new request for someone else to review. 331dot (talk) 17:16, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}} with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.

You still have not provided a specific example edit you plan to make. --Yamla (talk) 20:30, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thank you, Yamla. Here is an example of the edit I plan to make, in this article en:Women in Nigeria some sections were marked "citation needed" so I will try to improve the quality of the article by providing the required citations to improve the articles quality.Zarerh (talk)

That's a general statement, not a specific example edit. A specific example edit is something I could directly copy and paste into the article. --Yamla (talk) 16:46, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In this section of the article I shared above, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Women_in_Nigeria&action=edit&section=32, the last paragraph requires citation to verify the fact that Kanuri women work in farm unlike the Hauss women who help with domestic chores only. The following links verify the statement:
1. https://horizon.documentation.ird.fr/exl-doc/pleins_textes/pleins_textes_6/colloques2/34252.pdf
2. https://www.cenresinjournals.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Page-101-111-0420.pdf
3. https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1057/9781403914217.pdf
I hope this example will help. Thank you. Zarerh (talk) 15:13, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What specific pages in each of those three references cite the claim? --Yamla (talk) 15:20, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In the first document, pg138 and in the second document; pg105 and pg104. The third document required payment for access, so I'll dropped it. Zarerh (talk) 15:18, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am not seeing what part of the specified pages supports the claim that Kanuri women work in farm unlike the Hauss women who help with domestic chores only. Would you be able to quote what you are referring to? You can also include page numbers for the Springer source; established editors get free access to it (alongside many other sources) through The Wikipedia Library.
