Where to put the information on menstrual management
[edit]I see your problems with the topic of menstrual management, i.e. new article or integrate into existing article. It is also a topic close to my heart. For now, I have tried to improve what you have added on the menstruation page but it may be removed by other editors... It could perhaps go to the article on menstrual hygiene day or feminine hygiene? I will also put something about this on the talk page of menstruation. EvMsmile (talk) 13:32, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
- I've taken another look at your draft page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Menstrual_management) - I can sort of see what you're getting it with the page, but I think it was not very well written yet. As it is, there would be too much overlap with other pages. E.g. you state that "Menstrual management practices range from medical suppression of menstruation, through wearing special garments, washing or avoidance of washing, disposal and laundry of stained materials, to separation of menstruators from other people. They extend to the taking or avoiding of particular foods and medications, and making or avoiding contact with particular places, people, activities or objects during menstruation." - but then the rest of the article talks only about "Containment, Absorption, Sequestering of Menses" and not about the other parts (which are actually mostly covered in the article on menstrual taboo). I am also not so clear how you want to distinguish between "menstrual management" and "menstrual hygiene management" (the latter is defined here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menstrual_hygiene_day#Terminology). - I think perhaps the way forward is to gently and slowly add content to the section on "menstrual management" to the page of menstruation (and see if it sticks) - always making sure that you use plenty of high quality references for anything you add. Then, when the section gets too big to propose splitting it off into a new page. By the way, have you seen this discussion forum: http://forum.susana.org/forum/categories/24-menstrual-hygiene-management-mhm - you could use it as a bouncing board to clarify your thoughts and get input from others how "menstrual hygiene management" differs from "menstrual management". I would find that an interesting discussion. EvMsmile (talk) 14:59, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
