Articles sur les convertisseurs
[edit]Bonjour,

CyrilB 19:56, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
French communes
[edit]Hi.
I've been creating translated copies by hand, of communes of the P-de-C and Somme
by cut-and-paste of the French versions.
As all the information (maire, max.alt, population etc) is in the :fr: versions, a bot to transfer from :fr: to :en: is all that's needed, I reckon.
Any text in French would have to be translated afterwards, but headings and regular text
like
"is a commune in the Somme département in the Picardie region of France"
could be included easily enough. Unfortunately, I haven't a clue how the bots are set up at all.
Thanks Dickie (talk) 16:55, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- I moved your question to the owner of a bot. I will keep you abreast. Yves-Laurent (talk) 19:39, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Thank you

I've written this article, with much material taken from the French article, which is a Featured Article there. Would like to get this to GA status initially, any comments would be welcome. Mjroots (talk) 20:08, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not a railway specialist but a spent a few time to read your article and the french one.
- The name of the french article is Chemin de fer de Côtes du Nord and not Chemin de Fer de Côtes du Nord. I think you should rename the article.
- The exact french term is voies ferrées d'intérêt local and not just intérêt local : voies ferrées d'intérêt local is the term who whas used to described this kind of lines in some french law-> I change this in the article.
- I'll try to find some more time to re-read these articles this week-end. Yves-Laurent (talk) 23:57, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comments, I'd prefer to leave it as Chemin de Fer as that is usually abbreviated to CF, thus giving the "f" in "fer" some importance and justifying the capital letter. I've used this on the other articles I've created on French railways. Re Intéret Local, this is the term generally used in the English language books on the various minor French railways, but I will accede to your knowledge on the correct term to use. Thanks for your assistance. Mjroots (talk) 06:05, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
- I did not know the english acronym for CF.
- I haven't got a knowledge of the use of voies ferrées d'intérêt local. It's seem to appear like this in some french law. But in french we often reduce some sentence in every day use. So, it possible that this sentence is reduced to d'intérêt local for the french railway expert. If english book use d'intérêt local, you should do this too.

- "Chemin de Fer" translates literally as Way of Iron and is normally taken to mean Railway. In English usage Railway would have a capital "R" as in SER, LCDR, KESR etc., etc. The abbreviation VFIL is used in English language books, as well as the term intérêt local although the accents on the letters aren't always used.
