- Please note that I have declined the speedy deletion, on the grounds that a list of reptiles is neither a person, club company etc. Kevin (talk) 11:12, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Lovely photo of Rosa persica
[edit]Hi, I created a skeletal page Rosa persica, thinking that you had finished editing (it is so hard to tell when an edit was made without knowing what part of the world it was made in). What a lovely plant! Your photo deserves to be featured on a species page. Nadiatalent (talk) 13:01, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, for a praise my photo. I have written in Russian :( Really, a plant very beautiful and with a short season of flowering. Yuriy75 (talk) 06:35, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- If you need a photo of any plant from region of Kzyl-Orda/Baikonur, write. I have a lot of photos, but Internet very slow. I not botanist, photographing and identification of animals and plants is my hobby. Yuriy75 (talk) 08:17, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- An excellent hobby indeed. I've been wondering when looking at your photo about the statement (for which I can find several references) that the leaves are simple, without stipules. Your photo makes it look as if perhaps this is a mistake, and what is present is large stipules (in pairs), without any true leaf. Do you have an opinion on that? Nadiatalent (talk) 12:22, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hmm. Has loaded two more photos from available.

Below the residual true leaf is swept up and your assumption is true?

Thorns are connected with stipules/is stipules?
This weekend, unfortunately, will be missed. On the following I shall try to photo leaves more informatively. If their sheeps yet have not eaten all:) Yuriy75 (talk) 17:51, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hi again, those images are fantastic! In the first one, there is clearly an axillary bud (i.e. a bud that could become a stem) above the leaf. In the second one, that 3-pronged thorn is magnificent, it does indeed look as if two of them could be modified stipules. So the many reference books that appeared to be copied from one another seem to be correct, it is a simple leaf. There could be some doubt when they say "without stipules", but that seems to vary in your photos, so I wouldn't argue with them. Sheep are amazing animals, any other creature would avoid eating roses! Nadiatalent (talk) 11:52, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
