Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Yraolan, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Article evaluation, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.
There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:
- Your first article
- Contributing to Wikipedia
- Biographies of living persons
- How to write a great article
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- Help pages
- Tutorial
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Robert McClenon (talk) 18:52, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
The article Article evaluation has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- This page, with no references, does not appear to be written as an article. It may be a class project or paper about another article.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:52, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
Welcome and a suggestion
[edit]Hey! Welcome! I know where College of DuPage is. I saw your work at Polyommatus meinsii and made some changes to fit Wikipedia's style. I explained my changes in the edit summaries, but if you have any questions or suggestions feel free to let me know by replying below or at the article. The easiest way to make an article in Wikipedia is to find a similar article and copy its format. In your first edit summary you should credit the article you are copying so the people who did that work are acknowledged. Hope you are having fun, SchreiberBike | ⌨ 21:08, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for your suggestions. How do I credit the article I am working on, so the people who did that work are acknowledged? Yraolan (talk) 01:40, 4 May 2017 (UTC)yraolan
- The work that other Wikipedia editors do gets credited in the history page for each article. You can click on that and see what each person has done. That page also shows the edit summaries, and there you can add information like "format copied from Polyommatus abdon" or something like that. Credit for other sources goes in the article as references. References can be quite complicated, there's more on that at Wikipedia:Citing sources, but don't feel like you need to know all that before you try. SchreiberBike | ⌨ 02:56, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
