Speedy deletion of Driss Temsamani

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Driss Temsamani requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Since you work for Temsamani's 361 Degree Institute, you should read WP:COI. Please stop creating the same article over and over - Temsamani doesn't appear to meet the Wikipedia notability guideline yet. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 04:05, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Why was Driss Temsamani page removed?

[edit]

I can not speak directly to the question as to why Driss Temsamani was deleted as I was not the admin who performed the deletion. The article I deleted was Driss R. Temsamani and that was done because at the time of deletion the page was a redirect to a deleted page (this falls under speedy deletion criteria G8). All this information is already contained in the deletion log. For information on how to find this yourself, please see Wikipedia:Why was my page deleted? --Allen3 talk 11:06, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Driss Temsamani

I have nominated Driss Temsamani, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Driss Temsamani. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Beside the fact we are talking about an individual who's contributions and accomplishments have been covered by the the media and the community as a Moroccan American my self and many others who live in the US know he was elected President of the Moroccan American Coalition in August 2008. This is a historical moment for our community and country same as with others like La Raza for Latin Americans. My self and others on Wikipedia want to contribute content about Morocco and Moroccan Americans and I believe that is one of the missions of the Free Encyclopedia.--Youssef Omali (talk) 18:08, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Clarifications

[edit]

I read the conflic of interest section but what is that have to do with creating this page? I am not associated with this person. He was the founder of the Institute years ago. My contributions in wikipedia is to create pages about Moroccan Americans not to promote individuals. My questions is if there references about individuals are valid why would you delete the articles? Thank you for clarifying. Looking Further

[edit]

Instead of deleting an article about an individual who has been recognized by the media in Morocco and USA as the upcoming leader for the community in addition to being democratically elected by 150,000 people across 32 states as the President of the Moroccan American Coalition, you could help me and others who are working to enter information about the Moroccan community in wikipedia why thats an issue. We are trying to understand really. I could site many achievements with references but for now, I am learning so that I can provide you with all the facts you need. contribs) 15:41, 24 February 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Youssef Omali (talk • contribs)

John Fritchey

[edit]

"John Fritchey is the first Moroccan American to campaign for a US Congress seat."

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. We don't usually use signatures as references. Do you have a reference for the above claim? It seems to me it might difficult to substantiate as it would require knowledge of the ethnicity of every candidate for Congress in the history of the US. Do you need help coding a reference citation?--Hugh (talk) 19:16, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
