Pictures on Wikipedia

[edit]

Hi there!

It looks like you're trying to add pictures to the Penn Station article. But there are some problems with how you're doing it. First off, you can't just put the URL of a Flickr page into the article; you have to download the picture to your computer and then upload it to Wikipedia. For more information, see Wikipedia:Picture tutorial.

Second, the picture you're trying to link to -- http://www.flickr.com/photos/sftrajan/1348327881/ -- can't legally be added to Wikipedia. If you look at the lower right of the page, you'll see the note "All rights reserved". This means that the picture is owned by the photographer and can't be added to other Web sites. Pictures can only be taken from Flickr if they're licensed under the Creative Commons license, in which case that message would say "Some rights reserved." If you're the one who took these pictures, you can change the license on your Flickr photo page.

Finally, the picture you're uploading is of the Metro Subway's Shot Tower/Marketplace station, but you're trying to add it to the Penn Station article! --Jfruh (talk) 01:11, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
