Notability of Joan Morris

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Joan Morris, by Dontdoit, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Joan Morris seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Joan Morris, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Joan Morris itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 02:15, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the image of Keeley on the cover of the FHM magazine as it is not a fair use of the image per WP:FU. Contrary to what you said in the edit summary, the image is copyright restricted and present under fair-use terms. If you read through WP:FU, it becomes quite clear that using the FHM cover in the article as it stands right now would contravene clause 1 ("No free equivalent", specifically the part where it says "Non-free content is used only where no free equivalent is available or could be created that would serve the same encyclopedic purpose." (emphasis added)) as well as clauses 7 ("An image of a magazine cover, used only to illustrate the Wikipedia article on the person whose photograph is on the cover.") & 8 ("An image of a living person that merely shows what s/he looks like.") of the examples of unacceptable use. That's fine, but I got the image from Wiki. I didn't upload it. Young Kreisler 19:10, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I've again reverted your deletions. The substitute text you've provided is completely unsourced, has peacock terms (e.g., "worked tirelessly"), and omits critical opinions of his artistry, thereby failing the NPOV requirement for Wikipedia articles. If you still feel otherwise, please discuss changes on the article talk page.JGHowes talk - 14:39, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please be so kind as to advise me where you found this picture? Gebruiker:Michiel1972 of the Dutch Wikipedia has nominated my upload of this picture for removal because I am not able to provide him with the original author. Pdeege 13:26, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Ignaz Leybach

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Ignaz Leybach requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Kleinzach (talk) 07:45, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Young Kreisler! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 178 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

File source problem with File:Scharwenka.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Scharwenka.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:31, 1 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:31, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The file File:Ombrina.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:03, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
