Unsourced material

[edit]

I have removed substantial amounts of material from List of awards and nominations received by Taylor Swift on the grounds that it was unsourced and potentially false. Per WP:BURDEN, anyone that wishes to restore the material can only do so by providing a citation to a reliable source that verifies the information being added. Continuing to restore the information without sources will result in your account being blocked from editing.—Kww(talk) 14:40, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of awards and nominations received by Taylor Swift, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Mine and Sparks Fly (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A tag has been placed on User:Youcantstoptheswift/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This was previously deleted as an article. If you want to keep it put it somewhere off Wikipedia, because it doesn't belong on your userpages either. Meters (talk) 22:34, 2 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ridiculously bad sources

Final warning

[edit]

Nothing in http://www.countryweekly.com/news/miranda-lambert-leads-2014-cmt-music-awards-nominations supports the information about 2010, 2011, 2012, or 2013 that you added with this edit.

The next addition of unsourced information to that article will result in you being blocked from editing until you agree to stop doing so.—Kww(talk) 01:28, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I fully understand what I've done wrong, and I swear that I will never ever post information to wikipedia again without posting it with references. If I don't you can simply delete this account. I realize I've been lazy with my edits, and I haven't been using references when I should've been. I know that wikipedia doesn't want to be known as a misleading encyclopedia, so I will provide references if I get another chance. Sorry, it won't happen again.Youcantstoptheswift (talk) 22:35, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Per demonstrated willingess and ability to source. We cut new users a little slack when it comes to citations, but you are no longer a new user. Nearly every edit you make comes under the WP:BLP policy which requires explicit sourcing for contentious material, and the exact identity of who won an award is nearly always contentious. Don't post unsourced material again.—Kww(talk) 14:03, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm always suspicious when someone that has been warned as many times as you have suddenly swears to be wonderful. I'd like to see some good faith effort. I see that you have been building an enormous pile of unsourced material in User:Youcantstoptheswift/sandbox. You are still able to edit your sandbox while blocked, so why don't you take the time to add a citation to a reliable source for every entry there? Do a satisfactory job, and I will unblock you.—Kww(talk) 00:30, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

{{unblock | 1=:Actually I tried editing my sandbox... it wouldn't let me. And to be fair there also have been times when I added unsourced material and nothing happened. No one removed it, nor did anyone speak to me about it. But, I'm not about to argue with you. You're an administrator, so I will respect you. To be honest, the original plan was to finish working on my sandbox and then go and add references. But, you asked me to add references now, so I will. I understand your suspicions, and the statement I'm about to make is one you will likely not believe: all I want to do is improve this page. Thank you for offering me another chance, it will not be taken for granted. (One more thing. If/when you unblock me, if I ever forget to add sources, can you simply remind me? I tend to get caught up in things easily, so it would be useful. Also, I didn't know how else to contact you rather than posting this again.) Youcantstoptheswift (talk) 22:35, 1 July 2014 (UTC)}}[reply]

You've been warned so many times that you've exhausted my patience, so I won't be unblocking you immediately, no. I don't know why you can't edit your sandbox, but here's a copy for you to work on.—Kww(talk) 01:24, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

{{unblock|Finished! I got the best sources I could find for every single entry on my sandbox. Thanks for cooperating with me... I know how challenging that is... Youcantstoptheswift (talk) 22:35, 1 July 2014 (UTC)}} [reply]

Non-notable awards

[edit]

Please refrain from adding non-notable awards to award pages like List of awards and nominations received by Taylor Swift per WP:INDISCRIMINATE. Not every award she has been nominated for needs to be present. LADY LOTUSTALK 20:16, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I concur with this comment. Thanks. Regards,--Soulparadox (talk) 03:05, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of best-selling albums in the United States may have broken the syntax by modifying 4 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • {| class="wikitable sortable" width="100%" style="font-size: 0.95em"

List of Billboard 200 number-one albums of 2014‎

[edit]

Please stop repeatedly changing the number-one album of the year here. As I have noted several times in edit summaries, the Billboard chart-year runs from December thru November. The album they rank as number one at the end of the chart-year sometimes (but not always) differs from Nielsen SoundScan, which runs on a calendar year of January thru December. There is a separate article that lists the best-selling titles according to Nielsen. Thanks. - eo (talk) 16:38, 17 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
