Hello You're My Only Destiny. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions!

I'm Walter Görlitz, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.

Some pages of helpful information to get you started:

Some common sense Dos and Don'ts:
  Do be bold
  Do assume good faith
  Do be civil
  Do keep cool!
Do maintain a neutral point of view
  Don't spam
  Don't infringe copyright
Don't edit where you have a conflict of interest
  Don't commit vandalism
  Don't get blocked
If you need further help, you can:
  Ask a question
or you can:
  Get help at the Teahouse
or even:
Ask an experienced editor to "adopt" you

Alternatively, leave me a message at my talk page or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will try to help.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles
  Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Sincerely, Walter Görlitz (talk) 21:35, 7 June 2020 (UTC)   (Leave me a message)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks!

I notice that nearly every edit you have made so far has no edit summary.--David Tornheim (talk) 08:49, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Metallica. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. 4TheWynne (talk contribs) 15:05, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Linkin Park, you may be blocked from editing. 4TheWynne (talk contribs) 07:52, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Tool (band). 4TheWynne (talk contribs) 10:58, 26 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Neighbourhood, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jesse Rutherford. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:28, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page James Ford.

Information icon Hello, I'm Robvanvee. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Is This It, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Robvanvee 15:07, 18 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Linkin Park, you may be blocked from editing. 4TheWynne (talk contribs) 15:22, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay! I'll discuss that, thank you for instructions. You're My Only Destiny (talk) 08:19, 11 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

November 2020

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Skillet (band), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. You have made substantial formatting changes and content/timeline changes without any edit comments or discussion on the Talk page. I see from you Talk page you have been warned about such disruptive edits multiple times this year. Also, any changes you make need to be supported by references, and your reasoning for changing the work of other editors needs to be supported, and possibly discussed beforehand. Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Metallica, you may be blocked from editing. 4TheWynne (talk contribs) 18:29, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Falling in Reverse, you may be blocked from editing. Robvanvee 06:08, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Robvanvee, umm, I just copied touring members list from old version of this page. Doesn't that look disruptive? You're My Only Destiny (talk) 06:11, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:V. You have a shoddy track record with regards to this policy so please either source your edits, add a footnote to the source or use an edit summary to give attribution to the original writer where you obtained this info, thanks. Robvanvee 06:15, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Live at the Royal Albert Hall (Arctic Monkeys album). Robvanvee 17:28, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I just fixed the inaccuracy. What's wrong? You're My Only Destiny (talk) 06:44, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No. You added "lead" and "backing" to the vocal credits which is not what the liner notes say. This is original research and you are dangerously close to being reported for your repeated addition of unsourced information. Robvanvee 06:55, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I ordered my CD and still haven't received it, so I can't read it. I thought this was a mistake. You're My Only Destiny (talk) 09:40, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

January 2021

[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Tool (band). Your repeated unsourced edits are highly disruptive. I won't be issuing one of these again, hereafter it's off to WP:ANI which will potentially result in a complete loss of your editing privileges. Robvanvee 07:18, 8 January 2021 (UTC) Can I prove my edit with some videos of Danny Carey playing keyboards and edit the page again?[reply]

ANI notice

[edit]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. The thread can be found here. Robvanvee 07:53, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Robvanvee: I am an uninvolved administrator who saw the report at ANI. Please note any future problems on this page and ping me if wanted. Do not template the user: just use a few words to say such-and-such an edit at [article] was reverted because reliable sources are required. I'll check it out. Johnuniq (talk) 22:52, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Much appreciated Johnuniq! Robvanvee 04:22, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
